Unique Badminton Japanese Hanetsuki ..



If you've read the popular Japanese manga Doraemon , you will certainly remember an episode when boy Nobita played badminton with the girls and wiped ink in the face. Badminton game both strange and familiar is very popular in Japan, called Hanetsuki.






Racket used to play Japanese Hanetsuki is a wooden racket, is small, called Hagoita. The Hagoita often meticulously decorated, with beautiful traditional patterns, sometimes is the characters in the Japanese traditional theater. There are two ways to play Hanetsuki basics: play alone and double play.





Hanetsuki appeared in Japan from the Muromachi period (1333 - 1568) and is often played on the occasion of New Year. It is a game of girls.
